What is mastering?
Mastering is the final important process of completing your music project.

After mastering your mixes will sound more polished and professional and your tracks will be louder without sacraficing the dynamics of your sound. Each track will be carefully analyzed and then perfected using high quality digital processors to achieve a first rate sound. EQ problems like too much or too little bass can be corrected at this stage. You will be impressed by the difference quality mastering will make to your music. Mastering will bring it to life.

Mastering will ensure that all tracks are at the optimum level. Fades and crossfades between songs will be worked out and the gaps between each songs will be decided and coded. These important tasks will help produce an intergrated musically pleasing demo, EP or album.

At the end of the mastering process you will receive a more polished, louder CD which is sonically superior to your orignal mixes. It will be able to be played back on many different audio systems and all the tracks will play back at the same volume across the C.D. It will sound comparable to the professional products that you can buy in a record shop.

What are the best formats to send or to upload?
When uploading it is best to leave your mixes at 24 bit quality audio (without limiting or compression the mixes) However, 16 bit audio quality is also totally acceptable. Wav or Aif files are preferred. If you have your tracks on a DAT they can easily be transfered in the studio.

What should I give to the pressing plant?
You will receive a master copy CD with a P and Q sheet which is needed for the duplication plant. You will also receive a listening copy CD.
